Yes, you can take your car and we can book Spirit of Tasmania. We can either create your very own package from scratch or amend any of our existing 7, 8, 10 or 14 night packages. It's easy, we simply remove the car hire component, add in Spirit of Tasmania reservations and recalculate the package price.
This will depend upon your budget, how much time you have and what your expectations are, but 10 nights is our recommended minimum. Following is a guide to what you can achieve in the various timeframes:
A holiday of 7 nights or more in Tassie allows you to explore most of the state in a circle trip if you choose, or for some, just one week is barely enough to get them around half or one area of the state.
Often first-time visitors will opt for the circle trip, showing them briefly most of the popular areas. On their second or third visit, they have found some favourite spots that they choose to have a longer stay at, or want to explore wilderness areas off the beaten track which the first trip did not allow time for. If you have 10 nights or more, you can have a longer relaxed stay in some areas, or perhaps explore further outside of the general tourist route.
For honeymooning couples or for those wanting something a bit more special, the Island Indulgence package is a favourite. For families, couples and everything else in-between, our 7 day Adventurer, 10 day Explorer and 14 Night packages can suit you. These packages can include budget motel stays, apartments, hotels and family units of varying standards.
We often get asked this question by clients who prefer to "do their own thing" without too many constraints. Unfortunately this can can lead to frustration and disappointment when problems occur in securing last-minute accommodation.
Remember, Tasmania is extremely popular, particularly at certain times of the year. Plus you don't want to be spending your valuable sightseeing time driving around looking for a place to stay for the night. We can put together a good itinerary package for you that takes all that uncertainty away!

Although not a large Island, Tasmania has a lot to offer and we would recommend not trying to drive right around the state in 7days, but to base yourself in a few regions and enjoy the diversity that they offer. Ten days is our recommended minimum time to comfortably travel around the Island. Travelling times can be slower in Tasmania due to the terrain, and the constant need to stop and enjoy the view, experience local produce or chat with the locals.
