Hawai'i
WEDDINGS
Hawaii is very much a wedding savvy destination, with most resorts and many venues employing extremely professional, experienced and dedicated wedding planners to ensure that everything runs smoothly leading up to the big day. Generally, the vast majority of the planning can be handled by email and phone.
The good news is that there is a setting that is sure to appear to nearly everyone. Some suggestions include:
Kaui'i
- a barefoot ceremony on a secluded beach along the Napoli coast
- before 24 multi-tiered metres of shimmering waterfalls at Wailua Falls
- a thatched wedding chapel in the coconut groves of the boutique Coco Palms Resort, Kaui'i
- in the clouds, via a helicopter overlooking majestic Waimea Canyon
- at the historic Wai'oli Hui'ia Church built of coral limestone in 1837
- in the famous and sacred fern grotto on the Wailua River
- surrounded by tropical garden in one of the many botanical gardens
O'ahu
- the stylish gazebo at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach
- a catamaran setting sail on sunset with the lights of Honolulu twinkling in the background
- in the sanctuary, gardens or chapel of the beautiful Kawaiaha'o Church in Honolulu (circa 1842)
- among ferns, phildendrons and dramatic views at the top of Tantalus Drive, Honolulu
- amid huge monkeypod trees in a meadow of garden at Waimea Valley Audobon Centre
Moloka'i
- on the dreamy white sandy beach of Papohaku
Lana'i
- on the secluded Kaiolohia Bay (Shipwreck Beach)
Maui
- an elaborate wedding party at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa
- the top of Haleakala crater at sunrise
- on a sunset cruise
The Big Island
- in the Japanese Garden at Hilo's Lili'uokalani Park
- at historic Mokuaikaua Church or St Peters seaside Church
- in style, on the Beach Tree Lawn or Garden Lawn under the stars, at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai
- overlooking the ocean at the third tee of the Muana Kea Hotel golf course
- among the petals in the Rose Garden at Parker Ranch
